Job description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift requiring critical access hospital experience and WA or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active WA or compact RN license
BLS and NRP certifications required (NRP may be obtained after offer but before start)
ACLS certification required
AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery
Critical access hospital experience required
Community hospital experience preferred
Two professional references required in specialty
Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, vaccine administration, newborn care and assessment, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and postpartum vaginal delivery care
Responsibilities
Labor and Delivery unit with 3 LD rooms plus 1 triage room
Low-volume facility with under 100 births per month and approximately 20 deliveries monthly
Postpartum patients transferred to acute care
1:2 patient ratio
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Every other weekend required
No call requirements
Floating required as needed within scope of practice
Cerner charting system experience required
Block scheduling available
Provide labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including newborn assessment and care
Start and maintain IVs and administer vaccines as needed
Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
First-time travelers welcome to apply
Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
