Job description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Requirements
Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
Responsibilities
Work in a Labor & Delivery unit with 14 LDR rooms, 3 ORs, and a 4-bed OB ED
Unit supports ~3,000 deliveries per year, caring for low- to high-risk pregnancies with 24/7 specialty support
Schedule consists of 3x12-hour day shifts, 7AM-7PM
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions in accordance with scope of practice
Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities while providing patient and family-centered education
Collaborate with inter-professional team members and delegate tasks appropriately
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
Must reside within 75 miles of the facility; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
First-time travelers may be considered for this position
