Job description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Nurse Lead for a Surgery unit charge position in a Level III trauma center, requiring CA RN licensure, ACLS/BLS/PALS, and 2+ years of charge experience.
Requirements
Active CA RN license required
BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of charge/lead nursing experience required
Trauma center experience preferred
EPIC EMR experience required
Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/experience required
Master's degree and clinical specialty or nursing administration certification preferred
Minimum 3 years of specialty experience required for OR positions
Responsibilities
Surgery unit within an acute care, county-designated trauma center
Day shift, 5x8s, Monday through Friday, 0500 to 1700 with rotating schedule and start times
No call requirements
Charge nurse / unit-based leadership role supervising nursing and ancillary staff
Provides unit-based leadership collaborating with Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff
Supervises and directs nursing and ancillary personnel activities
Coordinates care plans and conferences with healthcare team, patients, and families
Rounds on patients to assess care needs and solicit feedback on quality of services
Develops strategies to improve patient, family, and physician satisfaction
Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues
Local candidates accepted with no radius rule; local rates match travel rates
Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered
