Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent experience.
Requirements
Active TN or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
Critical care thinking skills preferred
Must clear Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to start
Responsibilities
Acute care hospital setting on the Medical/Surgical unit (Trauma Level 3)
Adult and geriatric patient population, no pediatrics
Patient ratio of 6:1, with a unit census of up to 18-24 patients
Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
Uses bladder scanners, glucometers, and other standard med/surg equipment
Charts in Medhost EHR
Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
No floating requirements
Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit as part of a collaborative team
Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel rate
Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
Scrubs of any color accepted; casual wear not permitted
