Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for night shift with 2+ years of comparable acuity experience and Cerner EMR proficiency required.
Requirements
Active, unencumbered TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting required
Prior Cerner EMR charting experience required
Two professional references required for consideration
Responsibilities
Float pool position covering multiple acute care units including medical, surgical, oncology, ortho, neuro, cardiac, vascular, and pulmonary units
Assignments made by nursing supervisor based on staffing needs at time of shift
Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45p-7:15a with a 30-minute lunch
Patient ratios vary by unit but are typically 1:6
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Not open to block scheduling
Float to a variety of units including medical comfort care, surgery/GI, trauma, oncology, ortho, joint replacement, neuro, vascular, pulmonary, and cardiac surgery
Royal blue scrubs required
First-time travelers may be considered
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Previous employees are eligible to return
Travel pairs allowed
Orientation and annual modules required, averaging 2-4 hours and varying by specialty
