Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a night shift role requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Requirements
Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
ASN required, BSN preferred
Level 1 Trauma center experience required
Epic charting experience required
Responsibilities
Float pool position covering various Med/Surg units as needed, including Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units where applicable
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
No on-call requirements
Uses Epic EMR system
Provides direct patient care across multiple inpatient units, completing assessments, care plans, and nursing interventions
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality patient care
May precept staff from various units as needed
Responsible for patient and staff safety reporting and hazard correction
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
Prior contingent workers may not exceed 1 year of continuous assignment without a required 6-month break in service before returning
