Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Telemetry RN with a TN or compact license and MS/Tele experience for a night shift assignment.
Requirements
Active TN or compact RN license required
AHA BLS required (ACLS preferred, AHA certification only accepted)
2 years of RN experience required
MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
Drug test required 12-14 days prior to start
Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet fit testing guidelines
Responsibilities
Med/Surg-Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit
Patient ratio of 1:7
Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00
36/36, 36/48, and 48/48 schedules available
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Required to float
Epic charting system preferred
Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg-Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and wound/ostomy care as needed
Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside patient care duties
General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
