Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active AK RN license and geriatric/dementia care experience.
Details
Long-term care setting providing nursing care to patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions across the lifespan
13-week assignment consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week
Must be flexible to work day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
On-call may be required
Floating to other departments or assignments as needed
Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems required
Requirements
Active, unrestricted AK RN license required at time of submittal
Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
BLS certification required
Geriatric and dementia care experience preferred
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling
Ability to work in a moderate-to-high noise clinical environment
Additional Information
Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
Administers medications and treatments safely per provider orders and policy
Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care
Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs
Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate referrals
Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
Provides guidance and delegation to ancillary staff and supports orientation and mentoring of peers
Candidates must live at least 100+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Facility does not provide housing or transportation assistance
