Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 10-week winter coverage assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior chemotherapy/oncology experience.
Requirements
Active RN license, CT or compact, required
Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
Previous Charge RN experience required
Trauma Level I experience required
Travel nursing experience required
Epic charting experience required
BLS certification required
Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care
Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis, spinal cord compression)
Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, and lymphoma
Knowledge of psychosocial care including advanced directives, hospice, and patient/family education
1 reference required for consideration
Responsibilities
Inpatient Oncology unit in a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts )
Will work every other weekend
Floating required as needed
1:4 patient ratio
Epic charting system used
10-week contract specifically for winter coverage
Provide direct inpatient oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and care coordination
Royal blue scrubs required
Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only
No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
Radius restrictions waived for this 10-week assignment
Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
