Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position split between inpatient rehab and oncology units, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact)
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required (oncology experience not required)
Epic EMR experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Skills in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and PICC line care
Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
Wound care and colostomy/ileostomy management skills
Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage oncologic emergencies including sepsis
Experience with post-surgical care and symptom management
Responsibilities
Position split between inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient oncology units as needed
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
Patient ratio of 1:5
Uses Epic EMR
Provide patient care across inpatient rehab and oncology units including medication administration, wound care, and psychosocial support
Deliver patient and family education and support
Recognize and manage side effects of biotherapy and chemotherapy when applicable
Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this travel position
Former FirstHealth Medical Center employees must have been separated from employment for at least one year to be considered
Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screening upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
