Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Requirements
Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, oxygen administration, and ABG interpretation
Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and rapid response/code team participation
Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Full SSN and DOB required for submission
Responsibilities
Critical access hospital setting with 23 total staff beds on the MS/Tele unit
Patient ratios of 1:4-5
Uses Epic for charting
Day (7:00-19:00) and Night (19:00-7:00) shifts, 3x12 hours
Weekends required, minimum every other weekend
Floating required between contracted facility and a nearby sister hospital depending on census
No on-call responsibilities
Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care within a critical access hospital environment
Scrubs may be any color for RN/Allied staff
No parking fee at this facility
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
