Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night-shift position requiring an active IL RN license, an IA license (or compact), and oncology experience.
Requirements
Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
IA RN license also required, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact license
2 years of Med Surg and Telemetry experience required
Some oncology experience required
BLS certification (AHA) required
Epic EMR experience required
Valid driver's license required
Current resume/work history required
Skills checklist completed within 1 year required
One supervisory reference within 2 years of employment/contract required
Responsibilities
Med/Surg Oncology unit within a hospital setting
Patient population includes medical, oncology, and neuro cases
Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 3x12 schedule
Every other weekend required
No on‑call requirements
May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses
Uses Epic EMR
Provide professional nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team
Facility is a Level 1 trauma center
Holiday coverage required, working 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
Limited time‑off requests permitted during winter holiday periods
Candidates previously employed by the facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible
Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility
