Job description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg-Telemetry night shift position requiring at least 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience and an active IL RN license.
Requirements
Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience required
Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
Knowledge of heparin protocols and rapid response/code team procedures
Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care
Comfortable using isolation precautions and PPE
Responsibilities
Direct patient care on a Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit in an acute care hospital
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours ), three days per week
Every other weekend required
Patient ratios of 1:4-5
No on-call responsibilities
May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations and within facility as needed
Uses EPIC charting system
Provide direct patient care to cardiac, telemetry, and oncology patients in a Magnet-designated facility
Navy scrub color required
Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
Travelers must take a 3-month break after completing an 18-month tenure at the facility
Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
