Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Wound Care RN for a hospital-based unit with wound and ostomy care experience required.
Requirements
Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
Minimum 1 year of experience required
BLS certification required
WOCN certification required
CWS certification required if Physical Therapist
Community hospital experience preferred
Skilled in wound treatments and dressings, including autolytic, enzymatic, mechanical, and sharp debridement
Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and ostomy equipment selection
Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE
Experience with negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, and compression wrapping
Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
Responsibilities
Hospital wound care unit setting
Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
No on-call responsibilities
Floating within facility scope of practice and to outpatient as needed
Epic charting system preferred
Provide wound and ostomy care including symptom and pain management for patients with skin and mucous membrane alterations
Perform patient and family teaching regarding skin integrity risk factors
Work in clinic, hospital, and LTAC/SNF settings as needed
Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
No RTO permitted during orientation week
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
Previous Piedmont facility employees must be separated for one full year before returning as a traveler
Travelers previously cancelled or not returning to a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
