Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN for a night shift contract requiring BLS, NRP, and 1-2 years of relevant experience.
Requirements
Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience required
Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products
Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and starting/maintaining IVs
Postpartum and nursery care knowledge required
Experience with antepartum, Level 1 nursery, and postpartum care
Experience with postpartum care following cesarean section, multiple births, and vaginal delivery
Experience with pain management including opioids, pain assessment, post-epidural management, and PCA (IV)
Previous charge experience preferred
1 reference required for consideration
Responsibilities
186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
Weekend requirement of 3-4 shifts out of a six-week schedule
No call requirements
Epic EMR experience preferred
Free parking available in any unrestricted space
Provide direct patient care in a couplet care model supporting mother and newborn
Short-term 10-week winter coverage assignment
No holiday RTO permitted, with a maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
Local radius restriction waived specifically for this 10-week assignment
Candidates must be gone from previous staff employment for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemption only
First-time travelers may be considered
