Job description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and call coverage every other day and weekend.
Requirements
Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required per department compliance
ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
No prior CVOR experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
Responsibilities
Hospital-based Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms
Support areas include PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, offices, and scheduling
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday,
Call required every other day and every other weekend
26-week contract assignment
Provide direct patient care including assessment, treatment, and care coordination throughout the surgical process
Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Facilitate patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination with case management
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives
Promote a positive, healing environment through nursing excellence and evidence-based practice
