Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring proficiency in scrubbing complex cardiac and thoracic surgery cases.
Requirements
Active VA or compact RN license required
BLS certification required, with no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment start
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Proficient in scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass and related mediastinal procedures
Experience with thoracic surgery cases including daVinci-assisted procedures, open thoracotomy, and VATS
Experience initiating ECMO and performing pericardial window procedures
No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
One professional reference required for consideration
Responsibilities
CVOR unit on the 4th floor of a hospital's heart center
Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Unit hours of operation are
On-call availability required when assigned, with call starting at 1500
Weekend call rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) when assigned
Hospital-provided scrubs required
Perform a variety of cardiac cases including CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection repairs
Assist with TAVR procedures
Support thoracic surgery cases including daVinci-assisted lobectomy, wedge resections, and mediastinal lymph node biopsy
Participate in ECMO initiation procedures
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
