Job description
American Traveler is seeking a CVOR RN with 2+ years of acute OR experience for an open heart surgery unit requiring scrub proficiency across multiple specialties.
Requirements
Active FL or compact RN license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting required
Must be able to scrub and demonstrate proficiency across all service lines
Ability to function in surgical specialties outside CVOR, including robotics, ortho, spine, and GYN
Strong critical thinking, multi-tasking, and charting skills required
Excellent bedside manner required
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Two professional references required
No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
Work in the Open Heart OR (CVOR) unit
Staffing includes 1 RN and 1 tech per shift, with 2 RNs and 1 tech on call
Patient ratio of 1:1
Uses specialized equipment including Impella, ECMO, bypass pump, laser for lead extraction, EVH, and rapid transfuser
Documentation completed in Meditech
Day shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
Rotating weekends possible
On-call requirements split based on staffing needs
Performs procedures for joint replacement, ENT, ortho, spine, urology, vascular, podiatry, thoracic surgery, and plastic surgery
Responsible for observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
OR scrubs provided by the unit
228-bed Joint Commission designated top-performing hospital since 1980
Certified primary stroke center and Blue Distinction Stroke Center
Specializes in open heart, 24-hour adult and pediatric ER, orthopedics, robotics, women's services, and rehabilitation
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
