Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week assignment requiring open heart and vascular surgery experience along with a compact or TX RN license.
Requirements
Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
Required experience in open heart and vascular surgery
Required operating room experience
Must provide US SSN and DOB for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
One professional reference required
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
Work in a 3-room Cardiovascular Operating Room within the Open Heart Surgery unit
Team consists of 26 staff with a daily skill mix of 4 RNs and 4 surgical techs on day shift
No night shift staffing on this unit
1:1 patient ratios
Uses Meditech EMR
Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
On-call responsibilities average 4-5 days per month with 1 weekend per month
Floating required to the Main OR
Perform surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement, carotid endarterectomy, and ECMO
Also support procedures such as angiogram, fistulagram, fistula creation, and lower extremity bypass
Best suited for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment
Scrubs are provided by the unit
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
