Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring 2+ years of cardiovascular OR experience and Epic proficiency.
Requirements
Active VA state RN license or Compact required
Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only), with CNOR preferred
Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) RN experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Cardiac surgery experience preferred
No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
US SSN required for consideration; Canadian SIN not accepted
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
Surgical Services unit performing cardiac and non-cardiac OR cases
Adult patient population with 1:1 patient ratios
Cardiac case shift hours 6:15a-5:15p; non-cardiac case shift hours are 4x10's days starting 6:45a
Uses specialized equipment including ECMO, Impella, Maze, and IABP
EMR documentation in Epic (required), with Workday and ShiftWizard also used
On-call required, 12-15 days including 1-2 weekends depending on schedule rotation
May float to vascular, thoracic, or TACS cases when no scheduled heart cases are present
Provide perioperative nursing care for cardiac and non-cardiac surgical cases
Must reside outside a 65-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
Blue scrub color required per facility dress code policy
On-call responsibilities may include weekends and holidays
