Job description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience for a fast-paced 12-room surgical suite requiring an SC or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
BLS certification required (AHA only)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room setting
Well-rounded OR experience required, including general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN specialties
Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Responsibilities
Level 3 trauma center Operating Room with 12 ORs
Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
On-call required: 2 late calls until 11pm per week plus every 3rd-4th weekend
Uses Epic charting system
Scrubs provided by facility
Facility is a Level 3 trauma center with 276 staffed beds
First-time travelers accepted if they possess a broad scope of specialty competency
Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
Non-local candidates are prioritized; a 60-mile radius rule applies and local candidates are not accepted
All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season, which runs June through November
