Job description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring MD or compact RN license and 2+ years of PACU experience.
Requirements
Active RN license (Maryland or Compact)
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
First-time travelers accepted with strong 3-5 years of PACU experience or 2 years of ICU experience
Responsibilities
PACU unit with 16 rooms/beds
Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:30-20:00), 36 hours per week
Patient ratio of 1:4
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
Diagnoses include orthopedic, neurology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, thoracic surgery, urology, and gynecology
Every other weekend required (2 weekends per schedule cycle)
Floating required within specialty, rotating with pre-op for this contract
May also float to a sister facility as needed
On-call not currently implemented for this unit
Provide post-anesthesia nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties
Navy blue scrubs required
Holiday coverage required as scheduled
