Travel RN - Pediatric PACU

Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications along with prior pediatric PACU experience.

Work in a 10-bed Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit with an additional 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU)
PSOU provides specialized postoperative care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or extended recovery up to 23 hours following surgery
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
13-week assignment length
Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Patient ratio of 1:4
Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
Active RN license (Virginia or Compact) required, pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start date
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
Level I Trauma Center experience required
Epic charting system experience required
BSN preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Skilled in pediatric patient management
Additional Information
Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care to pediatric surgical patients
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, which must be disclosed prior to submission
Any vacation planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
Floating required within scope of practice as needed
Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have at least 1-year separation and leadership approval to be considered
External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away
Specialty-specific orientation modules required, completed during orientation
