Job description
American Traveler is seeking a PreOp RN with active CA RN licensure and admissions experience for a day-shift outpatient clinic assignment.
Job Details
• Ambulatory/outpatient PreOp clinic setting,
• 12-week assignment with day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM,
• No weekend requirements,
• On-call as needed,
• May be required to float to Endo unit if needed,
• Preferred Epic charting experience,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• Admissions experience required,
• Skills in pre/post-op patient care including medication reconciliation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, obtaining procedural consent, pre-op assessment, and pre-op education,
• Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy,
• Experience with various surgical case types including Endo/Laparoscopic, ENT, General, Gyn, Ortho, Ortho/Total joints, Podiatry, and Urology preferred,
• Experience with conscious sedation and general anesthesia preferred,
• Familiarity with dysrhythmia recognition/management and cardiac monitoring preferred,
• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia and hypothermia protocols preferred,
Additional Information
• Provide direct and indirect patient care to clinic patients and their families using comprehensive nursing assessment and individualized care planning,
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care,
• Administer medications and therapeutic agents as ordered,
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on scope of practice and licensure,
• Communicate clearly with patients and families using teach-back methods to confirm understanding,
• Support clinic operations including new staff orientation, training, and supply management,
• Uphold patient confidentiality and PHI protection standards,
• Accepts local candidates at local rate within a 50-mile radius,
• Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler,
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract,
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day,
• First-time travelers considered for this role
