Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with 2+ years of current Pediatric Med Surg experience and a KY or compact license for a night shift assignment.
Requirements
Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
BLS and PALS certifications required
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Minimum 2 years of current Pediatric Med Surg experience required
Experience with cardiovascular dysrhythmia management and interpretation
Experience with hyperbilirubinemia and gastrointestinal care
Breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk experience
Experience with bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/implanted line care experience
Respiratory care experience including oxygen delivery systems and BiPAP/CPAP management
Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
Responsibilities
Pediatric Med Surg unit with Meditech EMR
Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
84 hours per two-week pay period on a 36/48 rotating schedule
Every other weekend required
Float required within scope of practice
Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Provide direct patient care to pediatric medical-surgical patients including dysrhythmia management, respiratory support, and feeding support
Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront with no changes accepted
Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year
Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
Travelers who have worked one year in the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
First-time travelers are not required for this role
