Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and a GA or Compact RN license.
Requirements
Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
Epic charting experience required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
Copies of required certifications needed for consideration
Responsibilities
Telemetry unit caring for adults to geriatric patients
Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35
Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
No on-call requirements
Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, medication management, and post-cardiac procedure care
Navy blue scrubs required
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission with no post-offer schedule changes
No RTO permitted during orientation week or the designated Spring Break blackout (April 4th-12th)
Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Previous Piedmont employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
