Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring high-risk telemetry experience and an active IL RN license in hand at time of submission.

Requirements

Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background

High-risk telemetry experience required

Cardiac drip management, sheath pull, and central line management experience required

Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care

Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care

Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery care and wound care/wound vac preferred

Responsibilities

Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit within a 222-bed facility

Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)

Patient ratios of 1:5-6

Requires every other weekend work, approximately 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule

No on-call responsibilities

Float required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses

EPIC charting system required

36 guaranteed hours per week

Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response

Manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer procedural sedation monitoring

Navy scrub color required

No parking cost at facility

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted

RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment

Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
