Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position on day shift, requiring a CA RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Requirements
Active CA RN license required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI or MAB
Minimum 3 years of RN Telemetry experience required
Minimum 6 months of travel nursing experience required
Community hospital experience preferred
Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration
Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required for consideration
Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Responsibilities
Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
Every other weekend required, plus additional weekends based on unit needs
On-call as needed
May float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick campuses
Shuttle service provided for floating between campuses
Epic charting system used
Provide telemetry monitoring and care for cardiac and neurological patient populations
Support cardiac and neuro procedures including pre/post cardiac catheterization, cardiac surgery, craniotomy, and CVA care
Manage wound care, feeding tubes, and isolation precautions as needed
Must reside within a 50-mile radius unless approved for local rate
Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
Only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
