American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/Trauma Stepdown Unit position requiring NIHSS certification and Neuro/Trauma experience.
Details
Progressive Care Unit (Trauma Care Stepdown) within a hospital setting
44-bed unit with staffing grid of 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC per shift
Patient ratios of 4:1 at grid, stretching to 5:1
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
Every other weekend required
Uses Cerner EMR
Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trach care, and patient lifts
Floating required to Stepdown and Med-Surg units
Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Neuro and Trauma Care experience required
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
Assist with chest tube management, PCA pump administration, and IV infusions
Support lumbar drain management, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
Team-oriented, patient-focused personality preferred
Navy blue scrubs required
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
