Job description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/IMCU position requiring high-acuity trauma center experience and 2+ years of relevant clinical background.
Requirements
Active RN license (GA or Compact)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma hospitals required
Proven success managing critical, fast-paced, large-scale trauma cases required
Responsibilities
Progressive Care/IMCU unit with 16-10 beds
Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 4
Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
Manages heparin drips
Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
No on-call responsibilities
Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
Block scheduling generally not approved
Work within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travel candidates
