Job description
American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of PCU experience and NIH Stroke Certification.
Requirements
Active NH or compact RN license required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) required
Minimum 2 years of PCU experience in a hospital setting required
Strong dysrhythmia recognition skills and critical drip experience required
Pre-post cardiac cath and pacer patient care experience preferred
Prior HCA experience preferred
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
One professional reference required
Responsibilities
PCU setting on the 2nd floor with 20 beds
Staffed with 5 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift, flexing with patient volume
Patient ratio of 4:1
Uses GE cardiac monitoring and Hospira IV pumps
EMR: Expanse
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
Floating required to Med Surg, ICU (for border patients), and Emergency Department (for ED holds)
Every other weekend rotation required or equivalent based on staffing needs
Provide direct patient care within a progressive care unit setting
Self-directed, confident, and positive candidates with strong communication skills are best suited for this team
Professional attire required with no specific scrub color mandated
Unit-specific guidelines and policies will be reviewed during interview and orientation
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months are permitted
