Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift telemetry step-down position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification.
Requirements
Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the care team
Responsibilities
26-bed progressive care unit with all private rooms
Step-down unit from ICU with all patients on telemetry and heart monitors
Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1
Manages critical drips and a range of conditions including GI bleed, COVID, and respiratory distress
3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a
36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE
Weekend and holiday rotation required
Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for telemetry and step-down patients
Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring for falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice
