Job description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.
Requirements
Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Cardiac telemetry experience required
Epic charting system experience required
Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, IV therapy, and central line care preferred
Experience with cardiac drip titration, CVP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
Teaching hospital and charge nurse experience preferred
Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
Current driver's license required to verify address
Responsibilities
PCU/Cardiac Telemetry unit setting with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patients
Patient population includes Heart Failure, NSTEMI, Respiratory Failure, COPD, and Pneumonia diagnoses
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Every other weekend required with holiday coverage as needed
Floating required to any Cone Health campus as needed
Epic EMR experience required
Provide cardiac telemetry care with a secondary focus on respiratory conditions
Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and emergencies
Manage feeding tubes, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols as needed
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Prior travel experience is not required
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and no local candidates will be accepted
RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
