Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 6 months of neuro experience and NIHSS certification.
Requirements
Active WA or compact RN license required at submission
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
At least 6 months of neurology experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and neurology diagnoses required
Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and care for craniotomy, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience required
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Responsibilities
Neurology/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
Patient ratio of 1:5
Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
Every other weekend required
Floating between units required
No on-call responsibilities
Uses Epic charting system
Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring for stroke, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients
Must be willing to float to sister facilities near the contracted location
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; minimal RTO is preferred
Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as travelers and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Scrubs of any color are acceptable for RNs
