Job description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of current experience and an active KY or compact RN license.
Requirements
Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
AVADE Level I & II certification preferred
2+ years of current Stepdown/PCU experience required
3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred
Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case; declinations not accepted
Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
Two professional references required: one Charge or higher and one Supervisor, both completed within the last year
Responsibilities
34-bed Stepdown/PCU unit
1:5 patient ratios
Meditech EMR experience preferred
Night shift, rotating 3x12 and 4x12 schedule (19:00-7:30)
84 hours per two-week pay period
Floating required within scope of practice
Every other weekend required
Blocked scheduling not accommodated
Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, GI, respiratory, neurological, renal, and cardiovascular conditions
Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and cardiac drips (titration required)
Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and provide emergency response as needed
Bi-weekly orientation schedule
Up to 7 days of RTO considered; must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
Required to work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
Travelers who previously worked at this facility must take a minimum 6-month break after a one-year assignment before returning
Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
