nWe are seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a rewarding contract position in Monroe, NC. This is a home health-based role that will cover parts of Anson and Union counties. If you have a passion for helping adults, particularly the geriatric population, we want to hear from you!
Unit Information:
n Case Load: Based on a point system, averaging 5-6 points per day.n
Minimum Years of Experience Required: 2 years, with at least 3 months of Home Health experience (internship experience accepted).n
First-Time Travelers: Not accepted.n
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
n Adults only, mostly geriatric.n
Common conditions include CVA, TBI, dysphagia, apraxia, speech and cognition impairment, cancer patients, and aphasia.n
Required Licenses and Certifications:
n State license, BLS, driver's license, insurance, vehicle, and CCCs (Certification of Clinical Competency, received after CFY).n
Master's degree or above.n
Skills Required:
n Ability to manage swallowing difficulties and conduct swallow studies.n
Develop and evaluate care plans, identify aspiration risks, and determine appropriate diets (soft, mechanical, etc.).n
Patient and family education.n
Support within the Department:
n Another SLP available via phone if needed.n
Care Consult with the interdisciplinary team every Tuesday to discuss cases.n
Access to a manager/supervisor and scheduler for case scheduling.n
Technology/Equipment:
n EMR: HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) - required.n
Unit-specific equipment: laptop, phone, and any tools for visits.n
Orientation:
n 1 week of orientation with SLP teammate.n
Scheduling:
n Weekend rotation: None.n
On-call: No.n
Holiday Expectations: No.n
Approval of RTO: OK to approve.n
Shift times: 0800 - 1700.n
Schedule cycle: Monday - Friday.n
Additional Notes:
n Scrub Color: Light Gray.n
Parking: Dependent on patient housing.n
