Job description
American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring 2 years of cardiac and vascular surgery experience at a Level 2 trauma center.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of cardiac and vascular surgical technology experience required
Trauma patient experience required
BLS certification required
NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
CST certification required
Valid state license required if applicable
Experience with cardiac procedures including ASD repair, cardiomyoplasty, CABG, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, TAVR, and VAD
Experience with vascular procedures including AAA repair, aortocaval and aortoenteric fistula repair, AV fistula repair, atherectomy, carotid angioplasty/stenting/endarterectomy, EVAR, femoral popliteal bypass, renal artery bypass, and TEVAR
Cerner charting system experience preferred
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
Copies of certifications required for consideration
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital CVOR unit within a Level 2 trauma center
Facility features cardiothoracic surgery, structural heart, and advanced heart failure programs
Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, alternating between 6:30a-5:00p and 9:00a-8:00p
Weekend call required along with nights on-call (weekday call is 12 hours; weekend call is 24-48 hours)
May be required to float between two campuses located approximately 12 miles apart
Hospital-provided scrubs
Scrub experience in General, Urology, and Ortho surgery highly preferred
2-day orientation required for surgical technologists
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
Local candidates accepted within 50 miles of the facility, with a rate differential applying
RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as late requests are unlikely to be approved
Facility may require travelers to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
