Job description
American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience and heart and lung transplant experience for a teaching hospital surgical services position.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
Level 2 experience required, Level 1 experience preferred
Experience with heart and lung transplants required
Experience with trauma cases required
BLS certification required
Compact or KY state license required, if applicable
Skills checklist required for consideration
At least 1 supervisory reference from within the last 3 years required
Responsibilities
CVOR unit within a teaching hospital setting
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases including heart and lung transplants
Assist in cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and general surgical procedures
Support use of specialized equipment including cell savers, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic instruments
Adhere to aseptic technique, sterilization, and infection control protocols
Participate in Universal Protocol time-out procedures
Complete annual and orientation training modules specific to specialty
First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
Local candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
Returning permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible as a traveler
All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration; requests made after offer will not be approved
