Job description
American Traveler seeks a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist for a community hospital position requiring cardiovascular and vascular case experience.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
Community hospital experience required
BLS certification required
NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
License required if applicable
Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures including CABG, AAA repair, and carotid interventions
Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
Hybrid OR experience preferred
Responsibilities
Community hospital setting within the CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR
Cardiovascular and vascular surgical caseload including CABG, mitral valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and EVAR/TEVAR procedures
Also supports thoracic and transplant cases such as VATS, mediastinoscopy, and organ donation procedures
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Call requirements are firm
Cerner charting experience preferred
Assist in the preparation and execution of complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures
Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument and equipment readiness for CVOR cases
Support surgical teams during high-acuity procedures such as CABG, TEVAR, and carotid endarterectomy
Participate in specimen handling, labeling, and safety protocols including laser safety and Universal Protocol time-outs
Expect to work some holidays as part of scheduling requirements
On-site drug screening required upon arrival, including testing for marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation

Local candidates are not accepted
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for this travel position
