Job description
American Traveler seeks a Surgical Tech for a Cardiovascular Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience required
BLS certification required
Washington state license required for CVOR Tech position (license required if applicable)
National certification not required
EPIC EMR experience preferred
Driver's license copy required for consideration
Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Responsibilities
Acute care hospital setting with a Level 3 trauma designation
CVOR unit with 7 main OR suites handling 22-45 cases per day across three specialties
Inpatient and outpatient case mix with 35-40% add-on cases
Common case types include general surgery, bowel resection, robotic surgery, GYN, urology, TURP, cystoscopy, lithotripsy, and some bariatrics and plastics
No neuro or ortho cases in this main OR
Uses EPIC EMR
Day shift with options for 4x10s ) or 5x8s )
Weekday and weekend coverage required with possible holiday call
On-call requirement of 5-6 call days with call hours from 9PM to 0630
Weekend call includes 12-hour day and night shifts
Call response time is 30 minutes
Potential to float from CVOR to Main OR
Charge nurse covers both Main and CVOR on every shift, with a resource nurse supporting CVOR
Weekend coverage handled through call rotation
Holiday coverage handled through rotation
Scrubs are provided
24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
Surgeon on-call coverage available after hours
One week of floor-specific orientation provided
Housing in the area can be difficult to secure; block scheduling accommodations are available
