American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN with Level I Trauma experience and FL/Compact licensure for a day-shift assignment with every-other-weekend requirements. Details Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma hospital Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required (if needed) Must be willing to float to other telemetry floors as needed No block schedule requests accommodated Cerner charting system preferred Requirements Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued) TNCC certification preferred 2 years recent Telemetry experience required Level I Trauma experience required Consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital required Epic experience required Nursing degree must be from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and medication administration Experience with non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula use Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment Additional Information Provide direct patient care to telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management Must work 23 major holidays (eve and day) Smoke-free facility Successful completion of a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers not considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P- .
