American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications. Details Telemetry/PCU-Cardiac unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Every other weekend (EOW) required Must be willing to float to other telemetry floors as needed No block scheduling requests accepted Epic charting experience required; Cerner experience preferred Requirements Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand Current ACLS and BLS certifications via AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification required Minimum 2 years recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital 2 years recent Telemetry experience required Level 1 Trauma experience required Nursing degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment prior to starting first shift Additional Information Provide direct patient care to cardiac and telemetry patients, monitoring for arrhythmias and managing acute cardiac conditions Required to work 23 major holidays (eve and day shifts) Smoke-free facility Locals considered within a 60-mile radius at a reduced local rate Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools are not accepted Former Broward Health permanent employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Proof of vaccination status required with no declinations allowed American Traveler Job ID P- . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
