American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Dec 1, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a Level I Trauma center requiring 3 years of recent telemetry experience and EPIC proficiency. Details Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma hospital Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Every other weekend required Floating to other telemetry floors as needed No block scheduling requests accommodated Requirements Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications via AHA 3 years of recent Level I Trauma/Telemetry experience required 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution EPIC EMR experience required Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of drips, peripheral and central line care, blood product administration, and isolation precautions/PPE Must pass Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review Additional Information Care for cardiovascular patients including post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed Required to work 23 major holidays (eve and day) if scheduled Smoke-free facility Must complete pass/fail EKG and basic arrhythmia competency testing prior to start Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate Former Broward Health employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted American Traveler Job ID P- . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
