Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a Night Shift position. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The RN will primarily work in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit, providing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess patients in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit, managing care for individuals with surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac conditions.
Implement and evaluate patient care plans, adjusting as necessary to meet the evolving needs of patients.
Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, including drips such as amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, and nitroglycerin.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including communicating patient status to physicians and other healthcare providers.
Ensure proper use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation and patient monitoring.
Float between the 300 unit and the main unit as needed, ensuring flexibility and teamwork.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Telemetry or MedSurg setting.
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
Ability to work every other weekend and rotate holiday shifts with permanent staff.
Strong assessment skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for collaborative care with team members and patients.
Additional Information
Shift: Nights, from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.
Patient Ratios: Typically 1 RN to 4 patients.
Common diagnoses include surgical cases, orthopedic issues, cardiac procedures, sepsis, and respiratory distress.
Orientation: 6 hours of floor-specific orientation provided.
Scrub Color: Navy.
