Traveling Equipment OperatorSA Recycling is looking for a Traveling Equipment Operator. This position will be responsible for operating the excavator to clean up wrecked/damages rail and rail cars. This position will require to travel 100% of the time all over the US.Basic knowledge of daily equipment excavator maintenance a plus.Job Duties Including, but not limited to:Operate metal processing equipment using safe work habitsObserve processing operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify maintenance of any malfunctions.Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.Safely clean equipment when jams occurFollow all procedures e.g. LOTOTO, Fall Prevention, and Fire PreventionClean up work area at the end of shiftKeep work areas neat and orderlyRegular attendance and punctuality are essential job functionsOrganizing materials to have more effective use of spaceDispose of various waste materials in the appropriate mannerInspection to ensure cleanup is completedEffective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.Compensation This is a hourly position paid by experience. You will also be compensated for the following:Per diem Lodging $115 per day paid in advance per 30days.Per diem Meals $68 per day paid in advance per 30days.Personal Vehicle mileage reimbursed at end of month for previous month.725 per mile.QualificationsEmployees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.Must pass a medical physical and drug testMust pass a background checkPreferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptableBi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plusAbility to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demandsBasic knowledge of daily equipment excavator maintenance a plusValid Drivers License (You will be driving to required locations)Job Expectations Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.Physical Requirements• Work Environment: Scrap metal Recycling and shredder yard • Equipment & Tools: Shredder & other metal processing equipment, Hoists, hydraulic motors, mechanics tools • Physical Demand Level: Light to Moderate • Work Capacity: Shredder Operator Work Capacity • Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, touch, smell and taste • Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, grippingEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
