These travel-based interim assignments provide the opportunity to partner with healthcare leaders, strengthen clinical programs, and help protect the health and safety of residents, patients, and staff.

If you're the type of nurse who can quickly assess risk, implement best practices, lead infection prevention initiatives, and guide teams through complex clinical challenges, this is where your expertise can make a difference.

Why this role stands out:

Step into high-impact assignments where your clinical expertise directly influences resident and patient outcomes

Work across diverse healthcare settings, including skilled nursing, senior living, rehabilitation, and post-acute care communities

Lead infection prevention and control efforts during periods of transition, growth, or heightened regulatory focus

Partner directly with executive leadership, administrators, and clinical teams to drive sustainable improvements

Join a firm known for integrity, hospitality, and results-driven consulting

What you'll do:

Conduct comprehensive infection prevention and control assessments

Lead outbreak investigations, response efforts, and mitigation strategies

Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention programs and policies

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local infection control regulations and standards

Educate, coach, and mentor clinical staff on infection prevention best practices

Monitor healthcare-associated infection trends and identify opportunities for improvement

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical quality and resident safety outcomes

Support survey readiness and provide guidance during regulatory visits and audits

Develop corrective action plans and assist organizations in achieving sustained compliance

What you bring:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses preferred

Experience in Infection Prevention, Infectious Disease, Public Health, Long-Term Care, Post-Acute Care, or Senior Living environments

Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred, or willingness to pursue certification

Strong knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and other applicable infection prevention standards

Experience leading outbreak response and implementing infection control programs

Exceptional communication, education, and relationship-building skills

Ability to assess situations quickly, make sound clinical decisions, and lead change effectively

Willingness and ability to travel extensively based on assignment needs

What you'll gain:

Opportunities to make an immediate and meaningful impact in healthcare communities nationwide

Exposure to a variety of organizations, leadership teams, and clinical environments

A dynamic career path that combines consulting, education, leadership, and clinical excellence

Support from an experienced team of healthcare consultants and operational leaders

Competitive compensation, travel support, and the flexibility that comes with interim consulting work

At HDG , you're not just filling a role, you're helping healthcare organizations strengthen their infection prevention programs, protect vulnerable populations, and improve quality outcomes. Backed by a company with more than 20 years of trusted leadership and a culture grounded in integrity, respect, collaboration, and results, you'll have the support and reputation needed to succeed wherever your assignments take you.

If you're ready for a dynamic travel-based nursing role where your expertise can influence patient safety and clinical excellence across the country, we'd love to connect.
