Job description

Tucker, GA | Onsite

At Oglethorpe Power, Treasury plays a direct role in supporting reliable, affordable power for Georgia's electric membership cooperatives. We are looking for an experienced treasury professional to help steward the liquidity, investments, banking relationships, and financial controls behind that mission.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who enjoys the balance of daily execution and strategic financial oversight. You will manage corporate cash positioning, short-term investments, commercial paper activity, and critical reporting-while partnering with senior leaders, Accounting, Planning, investment managers, banks, trustees, and auditors.

If you bring sound judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong sense of fiduciary responsibility, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a complex, highly regulated environment.

What You'll Do

Lead daily cash management and liquidity activities, including cash positioning, electronic funds transfers, commercial paper needs, and excess-cash investment decisions.

Manage short- and extended-term investment activity in accordance with corporate guidelines, Board policies, liquidity needs, and return objectives.

Administer nuclear decommissioning trust investments and major maintenance reserve accounts in partnership with investment managers, consultants, trustees, custodians, and internal stakeholders.

Maintain and strengthen banking relationships, account administration, authorized signer records, KYC documentation, and treasury-management tools.

Prepare recurring liquidity, investment, commercial paper, and executive-level reports for Accounting, Planning, executive management, and the Audit Committee.

Support cash-flow forecasting, corporate budget assumptions, quarterly fair-value disclosures, SEC filings, internal and external audits, SOC 1 reporting, and policy compliance.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and use technology to reduce manual work while maintaining strong internal controls.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

At least 10 years of direct treasury, cash-management, or related financial operations experience.

Experience working in a public-company, SEC-reporting, SOX-controlled, or similarly rigorous financial environment.

Strong working knowledge of commercial paper programs, short-term investment products, liquidity management, bank credit facilities, and financial reporting requirements.

Advanced Excel skills and strong PowerPoint capability, with comfort using treasury workstations, online banking platforms, and ERP or financial systems. Experience with Infor FSM/CloudSuite is a plus.

The ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy, discretion, initiative, and minimal oversight.

Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

CTP or another relevant financial certification is preferred.

Why This Role Matters

You will help safeguard and optimize the financial resources that support one of Georgia's largest energy organizations. Your work will influence daily liquidity, investment strategy, governance, financial reporting, and the systems and controls that enable Oglethorpe Power to serve its members with confidence.

This position is based onsite at our Tucker, Georgia headquarters, with limited travel (approximately 5%).

Oglethorpe Power is an equal opportunity employer.
