JOB SUMMARY
Reports to the Treasurer and is responsible for managing the Company’s treasury activities, including cash and liquidity management, cash forecasting, banking relationships, payment processes, fraud prevention, and bank account administration. The Treasury Manager works closely with the Company’s Finance Managers, Controllers, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales, and other departments to ensure effective cash management and accurate forecasting of the Company’s liquidity position.
The Treasury Manager is also responsible for global cash and liquidity reporting to the Treasurer and CFO, monitoring bank account activity and balances, coordinating fund transfers, and ensuring treasury transactions are properly authorized and documented. This position supports the Treasurer with treasury-related projects, banking initiatives, financing requirements, and process improvements. This position supervises treasury and/or AP/AR personnel; management duties include selecting and training employees and planning and directing the workload.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the global cash and liquidity reporting process to the Treasurer and CFO
Prepare cash flow and liquidity reports and identify and evaluate significant variances
Work with Finance Managers, Controllers, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Sales to accurately forecast the timing and amounts of future cash flows
Monitor global cash balances and liquidity to ensure financial obligations are met in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Assist the Treasurer with short- and long-term liquidity planning and cash management strategies
Establish and maintain banking relationships and will be primary contact for banking partners
Manage the opening, closing, and maintenance of Company bank accounts and related documentation
Complete all cash management and bank account set-up documentation for new and existing treasury processes; prepare correspondence and proposals related to cash management and banking activities
Work with the Treasurer on the implementation and maintenance of electronic banking services and payment methods
Review and monitor bank account activity to ensure balances are appropriate and unusual or unexpected transactions are investigated
Confer with bank personnel to effect fund transfers to and from the line of credit and/or other Company bank accounts
Review and approve all non-repetitive wire transfers; ensure transactions have appropriate documentation and authorization
Oversee treasury payment activities, including wires, ACH, intercompany transfers, and other electronic payment methods
Monitor payment activity for potential fraud and ensure suspected fraudulent or unusual transactions are addressed in an urgent manner
Review bank fees, merchant card fees, and other banking costs and provide monthly or quarterly reporting
Oversee the Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, payment runs, vendor payments, and payment prioritization in accordance with available liquidity and Company policies
Review and monitor AP aging, vendor balances, and payment requirements to support effective cash flow management and ensure critical financial obligations are appropriately prioritized
Coordinate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and AP personnel to resolve invoice, purchase order, vendor, and payment issues that may impact cash flow or vendor relationships
Ensure appropriate controls are maintained over the AP process, including invoice approval, payment authorization, segregation of duties, vendor maintenance, and payment documentation
Review AP reconciliations and outstanding items and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner
Review trade credit, payment terms, and receivables activity in coordination with Finance and Sales
Oversee the AR collections reporting process and provide visibility into current and forecasted cash collections
Work with the Sales and Accounts Receivable teams to improve the efficiency of invoicing, collections, and cash application processes
Ensure timely reconciliation of cash application and provide backup support to the AP and AR departments as needed
Maintain treasury and AP policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions and reports
Assist the Treasurer with monitoring financial covenants and other requirements related to the Company’s financing arrangements
Primary support for audit requests and month-end treasury reporting
Administer and maintain the corporate credit card program
Backup for the opening and closing of Company credit cards for employees
Resolve credit card denials, disputed transactions, and fraud situations in an urgent manner
Manage monthly credit card statements and related expense report submissions
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve cash management and AP operations
Provide support to the Treasurer on special projects, banking initiatives, and other treasury-related activities
Supervise, train, and develop assigned treasury and/or AR personnel and plan and direct their workload
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excel skills and SAP experience, required
Minimum of 7+ years relevant treasury experience
Possess broad understanding of cash and liquidity management, bank account management and financial covenants
Team player with the ability to communicate with all levels of management
