Description
A qualified Trimmer Operator will be able to perform the following tasks:
* Operate and monitor industrial trimming equipment to ensure books are produced according to specifications and quality standards.
* Measure books and inspect finished products for quality issues, proper dimensions, and accurate trimming.
* Review job tickets, production specifications, and instructions before and during production.
* Keep accurate production records and ensure products meet established quality standards.
* Maintain safety and OSHA standards as well as a clean and professional work area.
* Communicate effectively with Supervision, Tech Support, Maintenance, and other associates.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality and productivity.
* Capacity to understand printing jobs, work orders, and production instructions.
* Set up and make basic adjustments to trimming equipment as needed.
* Monitor equipment for proper operation and report mechanical issues, jams, or other concerns to the appropriate personnel.
* Check label and carton quality.
* Minimize material waste while maintaining required quality standards.
Requirements
The Trimmer Operator should meet the following requirements:
* Qualified candidates will be able to work 8, 10, or 12 hours and work weekends as needed.
* Previous experience as a Trimmer Operator is preferred.
* Experience operating Muller Martini Merit, Zenith, and/or Orbit trimmers is strongly preferred.
* Previous experience in a printing, bindery, book manufacturing, or finishing environment is preferred.
* Experience with comparable industrial trimming or bindery equipment will also be considered.
* Safety and quality minded.
* Should be able to work with minimal supervision and be an individual contributor.
* Must be reliable and consistently at work and on time.
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
* Must have positive and effective communication with other team members.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
* Ability to lift and move production materials as required.
