n nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:
nnnTrims and/or removes trees, branches, trunk sections.
n
nnOperate and service all required tools/equipment.
n
nnCuts and splits large debris into manageable pieces.
n
nnSprays areas with equipment to prevent further growth.
n
nnLoads/unloads trucks.
n
nnFeeds brush & debris into a woodchipper.
n
nnRepairs minor job-related damage to lawns, fences, and walkways.
n
nnServices gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.
n
nnRelays hand signals, directs traffic, drives, and operates trucks and equipment, as assigned.
n
nnKeeps trucks and work areas clear and orderly.
n
nnSafeguards employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
n
nnCooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
n
nnSets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and the public.
n
nnTrained to perform tree and bucket rescue.
n
nnAssists in training new employees.
n
nnAssumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment.
n
nnRequests repair or replacement, when necessary.
n
nnMaintains good housekeeping on trucks and at work locations.
n
nnPerforms other related work, as assigned by superiors.
n
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnMust be 18 years of age or older.
n
nnMust be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
n
nnMust be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions while handling equipment or material.
n
nnNo fear of heights.
n
nnMust have good hand-to-eye coordination.
n
n nEducation & Experience:
nnnHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
n
nnEntry-level position, no experience required.
n
nnPrevious experience is a plus.
n
n nPre-Screen:
nnUpon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
n nLicense & Certifications:
nnA Driver's License is Preferred, but not required.

nDue to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
